Triple Threat Match for the RAW Tag Team Championship

The Revival (c) vs. Chad Gable & Bobby Roode vs. Ricochet & Aleister Black

ln case you missed it in our Fastlane preview and predictions, did you know that this is the first time in nearly six months that the Raw Tag Team Championship has been defended on a pay-per-view? The last time the red belts were up for grabs on PPV was all the way back at Hell in a Cell when Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler defeated Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. That’s ridiculous. However, with the division getting some love recently, in some part due to the arrival of Ricochet and Aleister Black to the main roster, this triple threat got to the main card and it did not disappoint.

Every person in this match delivered at one point or another. This match only got about 11 minutes but with the pace this bout had, it would’ve been very difficult to keep up for much longer. From start to finish, it was one crazy spot after another and to the surprise of nobody, Ricochet stood out more than anyone. His spot jumping over the ring post to the outside was insane and the Cleveland crowd was hot for this throughout.

As also mentioned in the show predictions, it did seem that Bobby Roode and Chad Gable were out there to take the loss so the NXT guys didn’t have to, and that’s exactly how it played out as The Revival hit a vicious version of the Shatter Machine on Gable to pick up the victory. This was a  big win for them seeing as how they haven’t had much success since winning the titles. This was a very entertaining match to watch, with high energy and good booking.

What’s next: It’s a little unfortunate that The Revival didn’t get to enjoy their win as they took a beating at the hands of the four faces after the match, which obviously means that they’re all likely to meet again down the line. Insert another team or two and we could have ourselves an insane ladder match for the straps in New York.
