Round 4 – Pick 119

Antoine Wesley, WR, Texas Tech

The first pick on offense and it is a position that many may think the Browns do not need to address; wide receiver. Even with the addition of Odell Beckham to the duo of Jarvis Landry and Antonio Callaway, receiver is still a spot that the Browns could upgrade. They have their two top options in Landry and Beckham. Callaway is the burner. The unit is missing a big body player that can win in the air and in the red zone.

That is where Texas Tech’s Antoine Wesley comes in. Wesley is enormous at 6-foot4 and 206 pounds. His game is what you expect from players that size. His long arms and big hands allow him to win at the catch point in contested catch scenarios. Turn on the tape and it seems like every game he is making jaw dropping catches.

Wesley would be a welcome addition to the Browns offense. The foursome of receivers the team could trot out gives Baker Mayfield plenty of options. Wesley can also be brought along slowly and allow the NFL training staff to work on his tight hips and agility, the two knocks he has on his game. Route running, a skill that Wesley has shown but not consistently, will certainly get better with Landry and Beckham teaching him things. This is the type of forward-thinking roster filling moves that Dorsey loves.
