Round 4 – Pick 132

Chuma Edoga, T, USC

Before the Browns signed tackle Greg Robinson, the position could have been the top priority for Dorsey and company. Instead, Robinson on a short deal, will get the first crack at being the opening day starter. He played well down the stretch and is revitalizing a career that was labeled a bust. Still depth at the position and a developmental prospect would be a smart grab for a team with a lot of draft capital in the middle rounds.

Chuma Edoga of USC is my favorite developmental tackle prospect. Edoga did not have a great showing at the combine which cooled his stock a bit. Before Indianapolis it was easy to see why teams may like him. He was dominant at the Senior Bowl and looked well on his way to a rise into Day 2 of the draft. The combine slowed that down but he is still worth a pick at this stage.

Edoga is a smooth mover with great feet, two traits that are hard to teach. Where he lacks is the power element to his game. At the next level he will be bull rushed and overwhelmed by edge players looking to go through him rather than around him. This situation in Cleveland would be ideal where he can sit back and put on some weight and strength before stepping into a bigger role. Dorsey took a developmental tackle in Desmond Harrison. That did not work well thrusting him into action. Edoga gives them another chance.
