DraftKings fantasy golf picks: The Players Championship 2019
$8,000-7,000
Paul Casey ($7,900)
Casey is often a sure hand in any tournament, and he’s currently playing at an extremely high level. With two top-five finishes in February and a T25 in between those two, you have to like what he could be capable of at The Players Championship and the value he has on DraftKings.
Si Woo Kim ($7,700)
This is a total “picking a former” winner inclusion here. Kim missed a couple of weeks after posting back-to-back top-fives and then missed the cut at the Arnold Palmer. Moreover, he was pedestrian at best last year at Sawgrass. Even still, as a former winner, he’s worth mentioning.
Ian Poulter ($7,600)
Between Europe and the PGA Tour, Poulter has been playing extremely well of late going T3, T6, T3 and then T23 at the Arnold Palmer last week. Ever eccentric, Poulter is fantastic value at this price on DraftKings, especially with a T2 and T11 in the last two years in this tournament.
Gary Woodland ($7,500)
Woodland hasn’t exactly lit The Players on fire in the past, but he’s been playing phenomenally so far this season, as evidenced by seven top-10 finishes in his 11 tournaments played this season. This is another fantastic value play, albeit one with risk given his history at Sawgrass.
Billy Horschel ($7,400)
Yes, Horschel hasn’t exactly been playing well this season, and we’ve seen him frustrated on the course on many occasions. However, if he can shore up his ball-striking a bit, the ability he has with the putter could be of paramount importance at Sawgrass, making him an option right here.
Charles Howell ($7,300)
Since winning The RSM Classic in November, it feels like more people should be on the Howell train. He has six top-20 finishes in seven tournaments played since that time, and his worst showing was only a T34. With that kind of run, he could be a sneaky good play in daily fantasy golf.
Jim Furyk ($7,100)
The veteran Furyk has only played in three tournaments in 2019, but he’s made the cut in each of them and has gone T14, T37 and T9 in those outings. While the ceiling might be a little low, this could be a safe value play if that’s what your lineup needs for The Players Championship.
Kevin Kisner ($7,000)
Speaking of consistent, low-ceiling plays, that’s what Kisner seemingly offers here. He hasn’t been great this year, but he’s been solid with four-straight finishes inside the top 30. For lineup stability and weekend scores, he could be worth a look.
