16. player. 87. . Edge. Clemson. Clelin Ferrell

The Carolina Panthers had the worst end to the 2018 NFL season, losing seven of their last eight games, and blowing their chance of making it to the playoffs. In fact, Carolina looked like a lock to make the playoffs early on in the year, but Cam Newton’s arm started failing him in the second half of the season.

In fact, Newton was sat down by the organization for the final game of the season, as they want to extend his rest, and get him ready for next season. The hope is that he can return to form, because no matter how good Christian McCaffrey is, this team is only going to go as far as Superman takes them.

When it comes to the defense, the team took a big hit this offseason, as star edge rusher Julius Peppers retired. Peppers is headed for the Hall of Fame, so replacing him is not going to be easy, but they could get a young star in Clelin Ferrell towards the middle of the first round this April.

During his time at Clemson, Ferrell helped lead the Tigers to two national titles, and rounded himself into one of the best edge rushers in this draft class. Clemson had a special defensive line in 2018, and three of them could go in the first round, with Ferrell being the first of the three off the board here at No. 16.
