2019 NFL mock draft: Drew Lock heads to Broncos
By Brad Weiss
The Green Bay Packers spent a lot of money on their defense on Tuesday, agreeing to deals with two edge rushers, and a safety. Based on those moves, it is not out of the realm of possibility that the team decides to utilize both their first round picks on offensive players, much to the liking of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Green Bay needs a tight end, and they should certainly look to get the best of the bunch with T.J. Hockenson at No. 12. Later in round one, with the pick they got from the New Orleans Saints, Green Bay could target another weapon for Rodgers, and there should be a bunch of good wideouts left.
One such player who should be a first rounder this April is A.J. Brown, who would be a perfect fit for their offense this late in the first. Brown is a guy who absolutely lit the SEC on fire during his time with the Ole Miss Rebels, and the Packers need more playmakers on the outside heading into next season.
New head coach Matt LaFleur must develop a good relationship with Rodgers, and the veteran quarterback has to be happy that the team invested in the defense early in free agency. Two offensive players make sense for the pack in April, and while they could bolster the offensive line here, A.J. Brown may be too good a player to pass up.
