High Value PF

Players costing $6,667 or under

Domantas Sabonis (at DEN – $6,500): Needs 28 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 43.4 fantasy points against Oklahoma City. I don’t know if Sabonis will as big of a game against the Nuggets as he did the Thunder but the OKC game was an encouraging sign. The Nuggets probably won’t foul as much. Longtime readers will know that I love Sabonis’ ceiling but find Thaddeus Young to be the more reliable player. I’ll go with Sabonis’ ceiling in tihis one but you can take your pick. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Derrick Favors (vs BKN – $6,500): Needs 28 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 39.2 fantasy points against Minnesota. Favors is sort of a boom or bust guy right now. But the minutes are creeping up and if he is guaranteed to play over 25 minutes, he is guaranteed to be a boom player and not a bust. The Nets are a good matchup with their frontcourt issues. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Dwight Powell (vs CLE – $6,400): Needs 27.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 29 fantasy points against Denver. You typically know what you’re getting from Powell because the Mavericks have no frontcourt and Powell is by far their best option. And now they get the Cavaliers. I love Powell in this game because of his recent play and the matchup. He’ll get you value if nothing else, but you should expect more with all things considered. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.
