2. Oakland Raiders

As mentioned, Nelson built some nice rapport with Derek Carr down the stretch last year. No matter what the Raiders do with their quarterback going forward, getting the best out of him if he remains in place this year has to be a priority to some degree.

The fit of Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams with a quarterback who isn’t a proficient deep ball thrower feels strained. But it’s clear Nelson does fit well with Carr, for better or worse as Oakland was thin on viable targets for a big chunk of 2018, and it seems the only reason he was cut was to avoid a fully guaranteed $3 million salary for 2019 (despite paying out a $3.6 million roster bonus months before it was necessary).

It would be incredibly uninteresting, Nelson may just go back to Oakland on the heels of his strong finish last year in a sort of prearranged move if he can’t find what he’s looking for elsewhere. So the Raiders are a worthy runner-up on this list, as a return to the Packers doesn’t appear to be in the immediate cards.
