Final Four

Ah, the Final Four. The four-team playoff is what college football fans have grown accustomed to for the past few years and the field based on this season’s NCAA Tournament will look, well, interesting. This could be your typical SEC-dominated Final Four.

No. 3 LSU vs. No. 10 Florida

Florida and LSU see each other on a regular basis seeing as both teams are from the SEC. The Gators have won two of the last three, including Dan Mullen’s first matchup since joining the program. This will make it three out of four as Florida will get some help on the offensive side of the ball from some unlikely heroes. Will this be a defensive battle? For the most part, but Florida will come up clutch with a Feleipe Franks touchdown in the final minute.

Final Score: Florida 23, LSU 21

No. 9 Oklahoma vs. No. 11 Ohio State

These two teams are familiar with each other as they’ve had a home-and-home matchup with each team trading punches on each other’s home turf. The visiting team has won each of the past two matchups, but what will happen on a neutral field? It will end up being the closest thing to a tie possible as the second Final Four matchup will be just as intriguing as the first, with the Buckeyes winning on a last-second field goal, carrying Urban Meyer off the field on their shoulders.

Final Score: Ohio State 38, Oklahoma 35

National Championship

It all comes down to this. An SEC team will have a shot at another national title, with a Big 10 team standing in the way.

No. 10 Florida vs. No. 11 Ohio State

Can Florida put the SEC on its back with Alabama absent from the field? The Gators have the talent to keep up with Ohio State, and a head coach in Dan Mullen who isn’t prone to getting out-coached. But the Buckeyes will send Urban Meyer off with a win.

Ohio State will get a quick 14-0 lead and Florida’s offense will never be able to overcome the deficit as it will be a defensive battle from that point on with the Buckeyes leading for the entire game.

Final Score: Ohio State 24, Florida 17
