2019 NFL mock draft: Giants trade up for Dwayne Haskins
By Brad Weiss
The Houston Texans were the kings of the AFC South last season, although it did not amount to much come playoff team. Playing against divisional foe Indianapolis, the Texans lost at home in the Wild Card round to the Colts, ending their season in front of their home fans, and with more questions than answers.
When it comes to this team, they have the talent on both sides of the ball to repeat in the division next season, and quarterback Deshaun Watson is one of the better young talents in the game. The team did right by bringing back Jadeveon Clowney this offseason, and the defense will once again feature J.J. Watt in 2019.
In the secondary, the Texans will need to bring a new crop in at cornerback, as both Kareem Jackson and Kevin Johnson have found homes elsewhere. While the team did bring in Bradley Roby and Briean Boddy-Calhoun via free agency, a player like Greedy Williams may be too good to pass up at No. 23.
Cornerback has been an issue for the Texans for a while, and Williams is considered by some as being the best talent at his position in this draft class. He is a long-term solution for this team in the secondary, and with a short window to win a Super Bowl with Watt as the captain of this defense, the time is now for the Texans to make their move.
