2019 NFL mock draft: Giants trade up for Dwayne Haskins
By Brad Weiss
The New England Patriots are once again your Super Bowl champions, as they beat the Los Angeles Rams by the score of 13-3 in the big game last month. This offseason, they have not made too many waves, and in fact, they have seen of big-name players leave via free agency in Trey Flowers and Trent Brown.
When it comes time for the 2019 NFL Draft, the Patriots will be picking last in the first round, if they even decide to hang on to the pick. They have been known to move around with their draft picks, and they have a ton of them in April, currently holding 12 selections throughout the seven rounds.
In the first round, New England should look to target the best player available, and Jeffery Simmons would have been a top-15 pick had he not blown out his knee a few weeks back. Still, he is a first round talent, and getting him this late in round one could prove to be quite the steal down the road.
New England will be right back in the mix next season, as Tom Brady does not seem to age, and they always seem to reload with lesser-known players. Simmons may not be able to help them as a rookie, but he can learn from the best defensive mind in football in Belichick, who will certainly be able to get the most out of him when he is healthy.
