High Salary PG

Players costing over $6,250

Russell Westbrook (vs TOR – $10,300): Needs 50 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 32.25 fantasy points against Golden State. Westbrook is coming off arguably the worst game of this season and a one-game suspension due to too many technicals. Do you know what that means? He’s going to explode in a big way. And it’s Nick Collison night in Oklahoma City. I’m a pessimistic Thunder fan but I’ve never been so sure of Russell Westbrook on this night. He’s going to deliver in a huge way. *whispers* or he’s going to actively hurt the team. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Kyrie Irving (at PHI – $9,100): Needs 44.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 52.75 fantasy points against Denver. One guy who is not hurting the team has been Kyrie Irving, who is on a roll for the Celtics. And now they get the Sixers on a back-to-back. Kyrie had 60.25 fantasy points when these two teams met on Christmas. He’s been getting it done in a big way for Boston with his scoring and assists. He’ll keep it up in this one. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Elfrid Payton (at ORL – $8,000): Needs 38.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 54 fantasy points against Dallas. Just assume Elfrid Payton is going to get a triple-double every time he plays until he stops getting triple-doubles. His salary keeps climbing but until he’s held to under 50 fantasy points, his salary isn’t high enough for me. And now he gets a revenge game against the Magic? A team he had 39.75 fantasy points against last season when he wasn’t this version of Elfrid Payton? Yup, I’m buying all the Elfird Payton stock. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.
