High Value PF

Players costing $6,250 or under

Bobby Portis (at CHI – $5,700): Needs 27.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 17.75 fantasy points against Utah. Portis has been over 20 fantasy points in three of his last four games. His minutes are down and that’s the concerning part. But this matchup is too good to pass up on as it’s a revenge game for Portis. He had 33.5 fantasy points against the Bulls on Feb. 9. Expect a similar outing in this one. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Rudy Gay (vs MIA – $5,200): Needs 24.1 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 31 fantasy points against Golden State. Do you know how to beat a zone? You park a guy in the middle of it and have him shoot midrange….wait, I feel like I’ve done this bit before. Anyway, I always trust the Spurs at home and I always trust Pop against a zone defense because he seems to be the only coach who can figure it out even though it’s not difficult to figure out. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Jae Crowder (at NY – $4,800): Needs 22.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 33.25 fantasy points against Washington. If Derrick Favors doesn’t end up playing, Crowder will likely draw the start and see more minutes. I’m lower on the Jazz than I probably should be because this will likely be a blowout and the Jazz have players whose salary is a tad too high if they don’t get enough minutes. Crowder is a guy whose salary is not too high and he should easily reach value and then some. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.
