Buffalo wings: The clear cut choice for go-to apps in March Madness are buffalo wings. Whether you prefer them mild, medium or hot, wings are the gold standard of appetizers.

Sliders: All the fun of a burger shrunk down to a more manageable size. A run to White Castle could help you fill your slider fix or simply make them on your own for more variety.

Onion Rings: Whether it’s the famous Bloomin’ Onion from Outback Steakhouse or regular onion rings, these zesty appetizers are always a winning option for March Madness munchies.

Fried Pickles: If you haven’t tried a fried pickle before, March Madness is the perfect time to do so.  Trust us, they’re something every foodie should experience at least once.

Fried Shrimp: Some of the action in March Madness falls during Lent, which means meat is out for practicing Catholics on Fridays. You can still get your snack on with some fried shrimp, which is always a popular option on most bar menus.

Cheese Curds: Popular in the Wisconsin region, you can root on the Badgers while enjoying some tasty cheese curds. Cheddar is always best if you want to try and make some on your own.

Quesadillas: Another staple on most appetizer menus is the quesadilla. The combo of chicken, melted cheese, and peppers in a tortilla is endlessly appetizing.

Stuffed Mushrooms: We close out the appetizers section with an Italian staple, the stuffed mushroom. If you’ve never had a portobello mushroom top filled with any number of stuffings (we recommend sausage stuffing), you’re missing out.
