The Aggies made a big statement in their opening series of SEC play by taking two of three from the team most people had ranked as the best team in the country, the Vanderbilt Commodores. The Aggies are relying on a younger roster, and they passed their first big test with flying colors. If they can play as well as they did this past weekend, the Texas A&M Aggies will be moving further up these rankings in the near future.

The Arkansas Razorbacks were expected to be one of the best SEC baseball teams after appearing in the National Championship series, and so far, they have not disappointed. The only reason they aren’t higher on this ranking is their first SEC opponent, the Missouri Tigers is easily the worst team in the conference.

Auburn was expected to be good, but probably not as good as they have been. Their offense has been fine but it’s been the elite pitching which has carried the Tigers to such lofty status in the 2019 SEC baseball season. They possibly exposed Tennessee as pretenders this past weekend. We’ll get a better idea of what the Tigers are when they travel to Starkville this weekend to take on Mississippi State.
