The Georgia Bulldogs have hit the reset button on their baseball program, and are beginning to see the signs of growth. After finishing second in the SEC East a season ago, the Bulldogs are trying to capitalize and go even further in 2019. They’re a multi-faceted program that can beat you with pitching or hitting. They showed us those capabilities in their SEC opening series sweep of South Carolina.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs were going to be good. They appeared in College World Series in 2018, and brought back most of those players. But getting off to the red hot start they have in 2019 is even surprising to those who watched the team a year ago. The Bulldogs relied heavily on their two quality starters Ethan Small and J.T. Ginn in the early portion of the schedule, but the bats equaled the pitching this past weekend in Gainesville when the Bulldogs took two of three on the road from the Gators.

That’s it for the first week of the SEC Baseball Power Rankings. Check back next week to see how much movement there is throughout the rankings.
