High Value SG

Players costing $6,667 or under

Andrew Wiggins (at CHA – $6,600): Needs 27.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 39.6 fantasy points against Golden State. I’ll never trust Andrew Wiggins and you shouldn’t trust Wiggins either. But he has nothing to play for right now but his numbers and we know the minutes and opportunities will be there for him. The matchup is good and he has a high ceiling. You’re playing with fire if you go with Wiggins. He’s a risk but it’s a weak night at shooting guard depth and Wiggins saves you a little bit of money while having a high ceiling. Diagnosis: Inconsistent with a high ceiling.

Wesley Matthews (at GS – $4,400): Needs 18.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 22.4 fantasy points against LA Clippers. If you want a reliable salary saver, Matthews is the perfect option. You just know what you’re getting out of him on most nights right now. He’s at a great salary given. His minutes and opportunities and he finds ways to contribute for the Pacers. If nothing else, he’ll get you value. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a decent ceiling.

Luke Kennard (at PHO – $4,300): Needs 18 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 18.8 fantasy points against Cleveland. Did I mention that it’s a weak night at shooting guard? Kennard has cooled off since he was red hot throughout February but he’s up against the Suns on Thursday. He still gets good minutes and opportunities and I have to trust that he’ll figure out a way to contribute against the weak Suns. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
