3. Rashan Gary

Think of Rashan Gary as a less risky version of Oliver. Both guys showed the ability in college to dominate from the inside and out on the edge. Gary has the advantage that no one is really questioning his attitude or willingness to work hard on his craft.

That might be enough to push him into the top five. He played a lot of football inside for Michigan, but his future in the NFL will be on the outside. That’s where his speed and bend can really be put to best use.

Lining Gary up opposite Arden Key would give Gruden and his coaching staff an intriguing pair of defensive ends to build around. Neither guy is likely to erupt for double-digit sacks in 2019, but Gary could grow into that sort of player in time.

Drafting Gary wouldn’t solve all of Oakland’s pass-rushing issues in one single transaction, but he would give them another young piece to improve their fledgling front. Don’t be surprised if he trades the maize and blue for silver and black on draft day.
