Round 5 – Pick 157

Mark Fields, CB, Clemson

Tennessee has a ton of money invested into the corner position. They also recently spent a first-round pick on the position. That has led to a solid group, but also a group that could be upgraded. They will not spend a big pick on a corner, but it is a spot where the team could take a flyer on a player. A smart player to take that flyer on is Clemson’s Mark Fields.

In his four years in school, he was never able to be named a starter. Still, he showed in the National Championship he has what it takes against elite talent when the starter went down. Then he went to the Scouting Combine and ran a sub-4.4 40-yard dash while posting 18 reps on the bench press. Those are the types of numbers and tape that make the NFL pay attention.  This is still risky because there is something that kept him off the field all that time despite his obvious talent. At this point, it is a worthy investment. Tennessee can allow him to grow and eventually take a pricier corner’s spot when he’s ready.

Round 6 – Pick 188

Wyatt Ray, EDGE, Boston College

The depth of the edge class pushed some very good players down the board. With the signing of Cameron Wake and having Harold Landry, the Titans may not feel the need to address the position early. It is still a spot where they are going to draft someone. In this mock draft, that is Boston College’s Wyatt Ray.

Ray is a young, fascinating prospect. Overshadowed by his teammate Zach Allen, Ray showcased impressive skills as a pass rusher in his time with the Eagles. He has a smaller frame, and lacks elite length but showed at the Scouting Combine that he is a very good athlete. Ray got the needed bend to corner around offensive tackles and get to the quarterback. Tennessee could use him as a situational rusher as he grows. It is a good compliment to the already-drafted Charles Omenihu and the other edge players already on the roster.

Round 7 – No Pick
