1. Devin White

Lavonte David does a great job of running from sideline to sideline to disrupt plays from his inside linebacker spot. The trouble for Tampa Bay is that they could use another guy like him to help hold down the opposition. Devin White profiles as just that sort of player.

Some teams might hesitate to take a middle linebacker so high in the draft, but Arians isn’t a guy who will be married to conventional wisdom. If he believes White can be a Pro Bowler, he’ll push for him to be the guy the Buccaneers select.

White isn’t the biggest linebacker in football, but the 4.42 40-yard dash he ran in Indianapolis backs up what you see on his college tape. White is a linebacker who can fly all over the field to make plays.

This might represent the least-exciting selection of the five players discussed in this piece, but he’s also one of the safest choices. There’s little chance he’ll be anything worse than an above-average starter for the majority of his career.
