High Salary C

Players costing over $6,250

LaMarcus Aldridge (at BOS – $7,500): Needs 35.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 30.5 fantasy points against Houston. Aldridge hasn’t been great in recent games, failing to crack 35 fantasy points in four of his last five games. But the Celtics are on a back-to-back and he’s played well against them in recent history, including a 55.75 fantasy-point effort on Dec. 31. He’s due a big game and I don’t think the Celtics are really in “try mode” right now. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Clint Capela (at NO – $7,400): Needs 35.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 34.5 fantasy points against San Antonio. Capela has settled into a nice spot and he’s getting you value if nothing else right now. He hasn’t performed well against the Pelicans this season, but both games came before all the Anthony Davis drama and when the Pelicans were thought to be a decent team. They’re a mess right now. Meanwhile, the Rockets are rolling. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.

DeMarcus Cousins (vs DET – $7,300): Needs 35.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 30 fantasy points against Dallas. Again, we’re assuming Cousins is going to play and he’s not a late scratch due to rest. If Cousins is rested, you can jump and spend money on Andre Drummond, who should have an easier time with Cousins out of the lineup. Cousins has been a reliable option for the majority of the season and the team he’s on makes it easier for him to hit value. He’ll continue to deliver. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.
