High Value SG

Players costing $6,250 or under

Terry Rozier (vs SA – $5,100): Needs 24.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 15.75 fantasy points against Charlotte. It’s been a very mixed bag for Roxier this season but he’s shown a high ceiling and he had a strong 29-fantasy point outing against the Spurs on Dec. 31. He’s actually played well in limited minutes in the last two seasons against them. And the minutes will continue to be limited unless the Celtics decide they are going to rest Kyrie, which is always possible. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (vs SAC – $4,600): Needs 21.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 18 fantasy points against Brooklyn. KCP is getting minutes and opportunities. He’s still KCP and he’ll miss shots and be not-so-good at this whole basketball thing on some nights. But he’s getting minutes and opportunities. And it’s the Kings on a back-to-back. And who knows, LeBron might be resting. He had 37.25 fantasy points against the Kings on Dec. 30. We’ll ignore the 10.75 fantasy points he had a few days prior. Diagnosis: Inconsistent with a high ceiling.

Wayne Ellington (at GS – $4,600): Needs 21.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 12.75 fantasy points against Portland. Ellington was hot, and then he went cold against the Blazers. But the Pistons will need his scoring if they want to keep pace with the Warriors, who are going to be much better than they were against the Mavericks. I like Ellington to bounce back with more minutes in this game and to have a better overall game. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
