High Salary SG

Players costing over $6,667

James Harden (at NO – $12,600): Needs 52.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 76.9 fantasy points against San Antonio. There’s a chance the Rockets actually limit Harden’s minutes in this game because they shouldn’t need him too much against a weak Pelicans squad and they have a decent grip on the third seed. They’ve been talking about it for a few days now, and at some point they have to put it into practice, right? I won’t believe it until I see it. And right now I’m just seeing Harden being Harden. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

DeMar DeRozan (at BOS – $9,200): Needs 38.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 38.6 fantasy points against Houston. DeRozan is in a nice rhythm right now and he gets the Celtics on a back-to-back. He had 38.4 fantasy points against the Celtics on Dec. 31. His scoring hasn’t exactly been there as of late but he’s making up that value in other areas, and we know he has the scoring ceiling. That will come around at some point. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Klay Thompson (vs DET – $8,300): Needs 34.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 13.4 fantasy points against Dallas. It’s possible the Warriors rest Klay Thompson in this game. Nothing has been made official, but they are clearly in the business of managing loads and with this being a back-to-back game, it would be a good opportunity to rest guys. Assuming Klay plays, I expect him to be his usual self, especially if the Warriors decide to rest Durant. He’s been great during this recent stretch and the Warriors can always be the Warriors. Don’t worry about the Mavericks game. The Warriors will be angry. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.
