Round 4 – Pick 110

Kahale Warring, TE, San Diego State

After watching their entire tight end room go down with injuries, then all be free agents, that is a position for Cincinnati to address in this draft. They brought back Tyler Eifert and C.J. Uzomah who are solid but are not long term answers. Eifert is talented as anyone but can not stay healthy.

Drafting San Diego State’s Kahale Warring would complete the position fo them. Warring is a sleeper prospect at tight end. He is an excellent blocker coming from San Diego State’s run heavy offense. Despite limited usage he was able to flash in the passing game. His athletic testing, which was excellent, points to his best football ahead of him. In a deep class, tight ends are going to be pushed down the board. Warring has day two tape but is going to be a great grab on day three.

Round 5 – Pick 149

Stanley Morgan Jr., WR, Nebraska

Speaking of players getting pushed down the board because of the depth of the position. Nebraska’s Stanley Morgan Jr. is an underrated receiver prospect not getting enough love in draft circles. Morgan’s problem is that he is solid at everything but not elite at much. Where he does excel is his route running. There are some players that just know how to run routes and that is what Morgan does. He is very productive coming into the NFL and projects as a high floor player at that level because of his route running and solid all-around game.

Cincinnati almost traded former first round pick John Ross this offseason, proving they are not sold on him long term. There are even rumors that the Bengals have talked about trading A.J. Green. That would leave only budding star Tyler Boyd as the top option. Morgan, even if Green and Ross stay, is a perfect compliment receiver who can line up off the line of scrimmage and dominate with excellent routes. The Bengals are going to take a receiver in the mid-rounds and Morgan is a favorite target in that zone.
