High Salary SG

Players costing over $6,667

James Harden (at MIL – $12,000): Needs 50.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 37.6 fantasy points against New Orleans. The Rockets want to keep Harden’s minutes limited but I’m not buying it in this matchup. This is a head-to-head game against the other top MVP candidate. And you know Harden wants to show out against them. He will step up, play big minutes, and probably have a huge outing to try to sway any MVP voters on the fence. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Khris Middleton (vs HOU – $7,600): Needs 31.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 30.5 fantasy points against Cleveland. Middleton was down a bit against the Cavaliers but they didn’t really need him in that game. He had been playing well prior to that and they’ll need him to step up against the Rockets. And I trust him to step up against the Rockets. He’s reliable if nothing else. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.

Lou Williams (at MIN – $7,400): Needs 31 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 47.1 fantasy points against New York. Williams can be hit-and-miss because the Clippers don’t always need him. But I suspect he’ll step up in this game simply because the Timberwolves have no actual defense and Williams knows he can carve them up. He had 48.2 fantasy points against the Timberwolves on Feb. 11. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
