1. Victor Robles, OF, Washington Nationals

Juan Soto got a lot of attention last year, and rightfully so. But it was Robles’ elbow injury in April that opened the door for Soto to get called up. Once he returned to action in July, Robles wound up with 14 stolen bases in Triple-A before flashing a bit when the Nationals called him up (.288 average, .874 OPS, 10 RBI and three stolen bases in 21 games).

With Bryce Harper now officially gone, Adam Eaton will shift to right field and open up center field for Robles. But Nationals manager Dave Martinez reinforced there would be a competition for the job during spring training, with Michael A. Taylor apparently a legitimate candidate and another scenario where both guys play a fair amount.

He has been in the Nationals’ system since 2014, but Robles will still only turn 22 in May. On March 1, the day after Harper signed with the Phillies, baseball’s No. 4 prospect (as ranked by MLB.com) homered, doubled and scored two runs in Grapefruit League action.

The service time drum beat applies to Robles too, but he’ll be in the big leagues from the start. He’ll slated to be hitting toward the bottom of the order out of the gate, which isn’t ideal, but Robles’ flashes of five-tool talent belongs on fantasy rosters
