player. 49. . Tight End. Iowa. T.J. Hockenson. 12

The Green Bay Packers went out and spent a ton of money on their defense this offseason, bringing in guys like Adrian Amos, Za’Darius Smith, and Preston Smith this past month. Those are fantastic pieces to add to a group that really underachieved last season, and has been an issue over the past few seasons.

When it comes to the 2019 NFL Draft, Green Bay hold two first round picks, thanks to the trade they made with the New Orleans Saints during the 2018 draft. With their first of two picks, at No. 12, they should look to bring in the best tight end in the draft class, and that man is T.J.Hockenson from Iowa.

Hockenson is a guy that fits this Packers offense perfectly, as quarterback Aaron Rodgers is at his best when he has that pass-catching tight end in the fold. Rodgers was miserable with Mike McCarthy as his head coach last season, and he gets new life in 2019, as the Matt LaFleur makes his head coaching debut this season.

LaFleur and Rodgers’ relationship is the most important thing in 2019 and beyond, so adding a weapon in the first round this April is a nice start. This Packers team has a couple of holes to fill this offseason, but they have started out strong, and now just need to hit it big with their two ones next month.
