2019 NFL mock draft: Kyler Murray, Dwayne Haskins go early
By Brad Weiss
The Baltimore Ravens lost a huge piece of their defense this offseason, as C.J. Mosley signed on to be the new middle linebacker for the New York Jets. With Mosley gone, as well as leaders like Eric Weddle and Terrell Suggs, the focus on this year’s NFL Draft has to be on the defensive side of the ball.
Last year, Baltimore picked twice in the first round, utilizing both their selections on the offensive side of the ball. The final pick of the 2018 first round was Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson, who has stepped in to be the franchise quarterback for the team, especially with the team trading away Joe Flacco.
At pick No. 22 this April, look for the Ravens to add a player to replace Mosley, and Devin Bush is one of the better overall linebackers in this draft class. Bush is a guy who can play on the inside, or outside of the defense, and the Ravens need all the talent they can get on that side of the ball heading into 2019.
Even with the losses they have incurred, the Ravens still have a solid defense, and should be one of the front-runners in a very tough AFC North this season. Cleveland looks to have the most talent, but the Ravens are the returning champions, and are not going to go away lightly after losing at home in the playoffs a few months back.
