Edge. Clemson. Clelin Ferrell. 24. player. 28.

In order to get this No. 24 overall pick in April, the Oakland Raiders had to part ways with a generational talent, as this is some of the compensation the team got for Khalil Mack. Of course, at the time, it was just the Bears 2018 draft pick, which fell to No. 24 thanks to them winning the NFC North in 2018.

With the pick, Oakland should look to add an edge rusher, and Clelin Ferrell from Clemson is a guy who fits their scheme perfectly. As of right now, Oakland only has Arden Key and Josh Mauro on the roster at this position, so it would not be surprising if Ferrell is not the only edge rusher they add in April.

During his time at Clemson, Ferrell helped the Tigers to two national titles, and ran over Alabama All-American tackle Jonah Williams during last year’s title game. He showed in that game that he has that elite ability to get after the quarterback, and the Raiders could certainly use a player of his skill set moving forward.

Oakland has had a tremendous offseason, and is a team that could double their win total in 2019, thanks to all the moves they made so far. They won only four games last season, in what was Jon Gruden’s return to the sidelines, and he is making sure that it is the last embarrassing season this franchise sees for a very long time.
