9. player. 16. . Defensive Tackle. Houston. Ed Oliver

During the 2018 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills traded up to get their quarterback, landing Josh Allen from Wyoming with the seventh overall pick. In 2019, they will pick two spots later, as their terrible record netted them the No. 9 overall selection this April, where they should look to focus on the other side of the ball.

Ed Oliver has been one of the more prominent college football players in the country over the last couple of season, bursting onto the scene as a true freshman for the Houston Cougars a few years back. Since then, he has developed himself into a potential first round pick, although he had a strange final season with the Cougars in 2018.

Oliver was seen more making noise on the sidelines, than actually between the white lines, but that should not affect his status as a first round pick. The Buffalo Bills need someone to fill the role of defensive tackle next season with Kyle Williams retiring, and Oliver is the right guy for the job.

Williams is gone, so Oliver has a chance to come in and be the next dominant defensive tackle in team history. He is good enough to be a top-5 pick, and it will be interesting to see if he falls to No. 9, but what a get it would be for the Bills as we near the end of the first ten picks this April.
