Chicago Cubs

The Chicago Cubs won 95 games last season, and was without prized acquisition Yu Darvish contributing absolutely nothing to the team. Chicago is hoping for a big season from Darvish, who signed an incredibly lucrative deal with the team prior to the season, but ended up on the disabled list and started only eight games for the team.

If Darvish can contribute in 2019, this is going to be a team that is tough to beat, especially if they make it to the playoffs once again. Chicago has a stacked lineup featuring stars like Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant, and Javier Baez to name a few, making them one of the more dominant offense teams in all of baseball.

Best case scenario

Last season, Chicago finished second in the NL Central, as they were edged out by one game by the upstart Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers are loaded this season, but so are the Cubbies, and if they can keep pace with Milwaukee throughout the dogs days of summer, there is no reason they don’t win the division, and eventually, the pennant. This is a legitimate World Series contender.

Worst case scenario

The Chicago Cubs not only miss out on winning the NL Central, but they miss out on the playoffs altogether, as it took at least 90 wins to even grab a Wild Card spot last season. While that is likely not the case, that would be the worst case for this franchise, who is looking to add another World Series title to their trophy case.
