3. Jonah Williams

The Broncos spent big to bring in Ja’Wuan James in free agency, but they still need to add talent to their offensive front. This might be a little too high to take an obvious upgrade at guard, but if head coach Vic Fangio believes Williams can play tackle he could provide real value at this slot.

It wasn’t too long ago that Williams was universally considered to be the top tackle in this draft. As the pre-draft process has chugged along, more and more concerns have popped up about his ability to stay on the outside at the next level. At worst, scouts view him as a player who can be an above average guard during his rookie season.

That should be good enough for the Broncos. Guard is arguably a bigger position of need for them than tackle. The team could easily let Williams get his feet wet playing inside in 2019 before seeing if he can handle tackle in 2020.

Drafting Williams isn’t going to electrify Denver’s fan base, but he’s a prospect with a really high floor. It’s hard to imagine him being anything worse than an average starter for most of his career. That’s well above the average return or the No. 10 pick.
