5 bold Premier League predictions: Mane helps Liverpool past Tottenham
1. Everton beat West Ham in five-goal thriller
The mid-table, “best of the rest” battle continues this weekend with West Ham hosting Everton at the London stadium. Both of these sides have had fairly unremarkable seasons but have managed to put reasonable runs of form together in places.
This has left them floating around outside the top 6 alongside the likes of Watford, Leicester and Wolves. Manuel Pellegrini and Marco Silva have done reasonably well but their fans will expect more of them next season, especially considering the money that has been spent at these clubs.
The Hammers are very unpredictable as they’ve had brilliant results against Arsenal and Liverpool but then in their last league match they conceded three goals to bottom side, Huddersfield. Everton have been similar in that sense but they went into the international break with a good win over Chelsea.
Those are the kind of results that Marco Silva is going to be expected to get on a more regular basis next season — otherwise the Toffees would be better appointing someone who doesn’t play attractive soccer but can win matches 1-0.
This match has the potential to be very exciting with some great attacking players on show. Hopefully the likes of Felipe Anderson, Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson are all at their best and this game turns into a bit of a goalfest.
West Ham have one the past two games between these sides by the same 3-1 scoreline. This match should be closer, though, and Everton might just have a bit more about them this time round.
Chicharito and Felipe Anderson will score for the Hammers but Gylfi Sigurdsson, Richarlison and Theo Walcott will all score as Everton win this one 3-2.
