1. Washington Redskins

Given the disaster that the team’s 2018 season proved to be at the quarterback position and keeping in mind that a division rival could very well be interested in the same player, the Washington Redskins may be the most ideal of candidates to put together some kind of package to acquire quarterback Josh Rosen from the Arizona Cardinals.

Even before the 2018 fiscal year became official, Bruce Allen put into place a trade to acquire Alex Smith from the Kansas City Chiefs to offset the eventual departure of free-agent Kirk Cousins, who would eventually sign with the Minnesota Vikings. The solid but unspectacular Smith helped the team get off to a 6-3 start before suffering a devastating leg injury would see him sidelined for the remainder of the year and will apparently prevent him from playing football in ’19. Enter Colt McCoy, who finished what would be a loss to the Texans and make two starts before going down with a broken leg.

The team would add Mark Sanchez as well as Josh Johnson by season’s end. All told, there would be six losses in the final seven games. Those aforementioned quarterbacks remain as free agents but the team already swung one deal in obtaining well-traveled Case Keenum from the Denver Broncos. A big hit with the Minnesota Vikings in 2017, he proved to be a big disappointment in the Mile High City and became available when the club dealt for Joe Flacco.

Keenum certainly isn’t a long-term answer but the 22-year-old Rosen certainly could be. The Redskins own four picks within the Top 100, including No. 15 overall and a pair of selections in the third round. And if they are able to acquire the young performer, don’t be surprised if he’s a starter sooner than later despite the arrival of Keenum.
