MIAMI, FL – DECEMBER 22: Dion Waiters /

High Value SG

Players costing $6,250 or under

Dion Waiters (at BOS – $6,000): Needs 27.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 48.7 fantasy points against New York. Waiters salary has gone up but with all the injuries to the Miami backcourt, he’ll continue to get minutes and opportunities. The Celtics are a mess right now and Miami will continue to play with great effort as they fight for the final playoff spot. We know Waiters is capable of raising his game in a big way. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Pat Connaughton (at BKN – $4,600): Needs 21.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 35 fantasy points against Atlanta. Connaughton was playing well enough even prior to the Bucks losing all their star players. And with everyone else out, Connaughton will have to step up even more. The Nets are a good matchup as the offense should be up for both teams in this one. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Reggie Jackson (at IND – $5,200): Needs 24.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 44.25 fantasy points against Portland. You never know what you’re going to get from Reggie Jackson but he’s at a good salary given his usual minutes and opportunities. And he has a high ceiling. And with Blake Griffin possibly out of the lineup once again, Jackson should be in more control of the offense. He’s not reliable, but the ceiling is very high. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a high ceiling.
