MIAMI, FL – DECEMBER 22: Dion Waiters /

High Value SG

Players costing $6,667 or under

Dion Waiters (at BOS – $5,500): Needs 23.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 47.6 fantasy points against New York. You can always spend a little bit higher and go with DWade, who I refuse to doubt in the final weeks of the season. But Waiters is at a lower salary and his ceiling is just as high with all the injuries to the Miami players. Don’t put too much stock into the Knicks game because it’s the Knicks. But you can put stock into Miami’s mindset compared to Boston’s. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Jeremy Lamb (at UTA – $4,500): Needs 19 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 29.75 fantasy points against Golden State. Lamb isn’t playing many minutes and you can always go with Dwayne Bacon in this spot as his minutes are more guaranteed. But Lamb is the better player and at some point his minutes will jump back up following the ankle injury. It’s a tough matchup and the Hornets are petty much playoff dead right now. But they’ll go down swinging and Lamb will step up. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Pat Connaughton (at BKN – $4,800): Needs 20.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 31.9 fantasy points against Atlanta. Connaughton was playing well even before the Bucks were down to no players with all their injuries but now that he’s getting even more minutes and opportunities, he’s playing even better. If the Bucks don’t have any players to use, Connaughton will continue to get it done for them. He’s perhaps more reliable if the stars play. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.
