Miami Dolphins

As mentioned in my previous work, the Dolphins have simply refused to address the quarterback position in any meaningful way. In the 2019 draft, they must buck this trend. There are a handful of prospects in this draft and, based on recent history, none will survive past the 10th-overall pick. This is especially true if the Cardinals follow through with what most people seem to expect, and take Kyler Murray first overall.

Now, Miami does have some options. They could trade with Arizona, netting Josh Rosen in the process. They could choose to target Dwayne Haskins, likely needing to move up to the No. 5 spot to get ahead of the New York Giants. Or, they could target someone like Drew Lock, and potentially trade up with Detroit or Buffalo if they think that John Elway will take him.

The biggest hiccup for the team is that they do not have significant draft capital with which to make a move. They have to decide who will be their quarterback of the future, and they have to be willing to be bold to make it happen.

The Chiefs, the Jets, the Rams, the Eagles, the Bills, the Texans, the Bears and the Cardinals have all made significant trades in the last three drafts to select their guys. The Dolphins must choose to do the same.
