The New York Giants did something that not many people figured they would do this past month, as they traded away star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. In exchange for Beckham, the Giants got back the Cleveland Browns first and third round pick  this April, as well as safety Jabrill Peppers, who will start on this defense.

With the Browns first round pick, which comes in at No. 17, the Giants may elect to add an edge rusher. Earlier in round one, they will figure out their future at the quarterback position, and with this pick, they can bring in a guy who can replace Olivier Vernon, who was also traded to the Browns this offseason.

One player who has a lot of potential in this draft class is Rashan Gary, an explosive edge rusher from the University of Michigan. Gary did not rack up a ton of sacks during his time with the Wolverines, but he proved to be an incredibly versatile defensive lineman, and should be a strong-side defensive end at the NFL level.

The Giants are trying to win-now, but also build for the future, which is never easy to do at the same time. This is a team that has a lot of holes heading into next season, and they have gotten rid of a lot of talent this offseason, so they better make due with their two first round picks later this month.
