2019 NFL mock draft: Kyler Murray heads to Cardinals at No. 1
By Brad Weiss
The Green Bay Packers will pick twice in the first round this April, as they swung a deal with the New Orleans Saints for their 2019 first round pick during the 2018 NFL Draft. With this pick, the Packers could look to continue to add weapons on offense, especially after keying in on the defense via free agency.
After adding a star wide receiver at No. 12 in D.K. Metcalf, Green Bay could look to add another weapon for Aaron Rodgers at No. 30. They need help at the tight end position, and Noah Fant should join his teammate, T.J. Hockenson, by being drafted in the first round this April.
During the Iowa Pro Day, Fant actually drew better reviews than Hockenson, but right now, his teammate is rated as the best tight end available. However, Fant is actually a better fit for this Packers offense, as he has incredible pass-catching ability, and Rodgers loves nothing more than to have that solid security blanket at tight end.
Green Bay has a new head coach in Matt LaFleur this season, and it will be up to him to get this team back to being a playoff team. Rodgers is one of the better quarterback to ever play the game, but he has won only one Super Bowl, and getting him his second ring has to be priority No. 1 for this organization moving forward.
