2019 NFL mock draft: Kyler Murray heads to Cardinals at No. 1
By Brad Weiss
The Los Angeles Rams were expected to be a good team in 2018, as they were coming off a 2017 season where they turned a lot of heads. Young head coach Sean McVay has proven that he is one of the best in the business, and with young stars at many key positions, this team has the ability to be good for a very long time.
Last season, Los Angeles made it all the way to the Super Bowl, and that was thanks in large part to all the talent they brought in via free agency. One big name was defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, who had a solid season with the Rams, but is not expected to be back with the team in 2019 and beyond.
Suh will not be back with the team this season, which means there is going to be a hole next to elite defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Dexter Lawrence is by far one of the better defensive tackles in this draft class, and with all his issues behind him, look for him to stay in the first round this April.
Lawrence was forced to sit out the College Football Playoff due to a failed drug test, but that is not going to affect his draft status too much. He is a guy who will be a disruptive force at the next level, and as the Rams continue to build up talent, having him and Donald next to each other for the next five years would give them an elite duo in the trenches.
