The New York Jets move down to No. 6 in this mock draft, trading away what would have been the No. 3 overall pick for the second straight season. The Jets have had one of the more impressive offseasons of any team, picking up elite players on both sides of the ball, and should be considered a legitimate Wild Card threat in 2019.

During the 2018 NFL Draft, the Jets traded up to No. 3 to select USC quarterback Sam Darnold, who has all the makings of being a franchise quarterback in this league. This offseason, they went out and got him the best dual-threat weapon in all of football, signing running back Le’Veon Bell to a huge contract to be their feature back.

On defense, they brought in the best middle linebacker available in C.J. Mosley, who is coming off an incredible run with the Baltimore Ravens. All of a sudden, this Jets team is legit, and at pick No. 6 overall, they could add an absolute monster to their defensive line in former Houston Cougar Ed Oliver.

Sure, Oliver’s draft stock took a tumble towards the end of the college football season, but he has come back strong after an incredible combine and Pro Day. The Jets would be making a big mistake by passing up on Oliver here, as he is a building block type player, and based on his physical attributes, you could put him all along the defensive line.
