2019 NFL mock draft: Kyler Murray heads to Cardinals at No. 1
By Brad Weiss
The Jacksonville Jaguars finally ended the Blake Bortles era this offseason, releasing their former first round pick, and starting over with a Super Bowl MVP at the helm. Nick Foles will be the new signal-caller for the Jaguars, and the hope is that he is the player he was with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he proved to be one of the more clutch signal-callers in football.
Last season, Jacksonville went into the year with high expectations, as they actually held a ten-point lead entering the fourth quarter against the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game. It was all downhill from there, but with Foles under center, there is renewed hope for the Jags, who have the talent to make a run in 2019.
One area they could stand to get better in the 2019 NFL Draft is at tight end, and T.J. Hockenson would be a solid addition to this roster. Hockenson is the kind of playmaker at the position that this team is lacking, and with solid talent on both sides of the ball, there are not too many pieces missing from this puzzle.
Jacksonville re-built their coaching staff this offseason, as Doug Marrone decided it was time to change a lot of the faces around him. What kind of difference that makes remains to be seen, but this is a team that is definitely in win-now mode, and in a loaded AFC South, they have a lot of work to do to get back to the playoffs.
