It seems the New York Jets are tweaking their classic logo for a new look in 2019.

A lot of things are going to be new in 2019 for the New York Jets, including their logo.

Fans woke up on Wednesday to rumors that the Jets would be getting a new logo for this upcoming season. Well, less new and more like a tweak on the old classic look the team has been rocking intermittently since the 60s.

For the record, there were two “leaks” on Wednesday, one of which seems much more legit than the other.

Anyone who heard about the Jets uniforms leak and frantically searched Twitter likely found mockups that are radically different than the uniforms the team currently uses.

This doesn’t appear to be real (although there’s growing sentiment to suggest they are). It also doesn’t mesh with what appears to be an actual change to the logo. Speaking of which, the new logo — should it turn out to not be a belated April Fools joke — is subtly different but sleek enough to usher in a new era.

The old logo had the ‘NY’ behind the ‘JETS’ text, where this one separates the two words for a cleaner look.

With Sam Darnold entering his second year, and new head coach Adam Gase looking to lead the way, there will be a lot of change around the Jets this upcoming season. Rumors have been swirling about the Cleveland Browns — another team with a totally new look and hopefully bright future — altering their look to represent a new era. Hopefully for Jets fans, changing a logo isn’t the only progress the team makes this year.
