FanSided previews the upcoming WWE WrestleMania 35 falls count anywhere match between The Miz and Shane McMahon, unlikely friends turned unlikely brawlers.

Every even somewhat seasoned wrestling fan knew that the tag team alliance between Shane McMahon and The Miz was doomed to end in violent betrayal. However, most probably didn’t expect the breakup to go down the way it did — with McMahon, consistently a babyface in recent years, turning on The Miz, historically a heel, by attacking him in front of his dad after their match at Fastlane.

Though surprising, the new character alignments felt natural. It had been weird that Shane was somehow the one “good” McMahon, especially after he, his dad, his sister and his brother-in-law recently became co-general managers of Raw and SmackDown. And now that he was a sympathetic family man facing a power-abusing corporate overlord, fans were free to cheer The Miz, a man they’d loved to hate for years.

After all this drama, there was still one more unexpected twist to the match: The Miz, who once memorably cut a promo on Daniel Bryan defending his “safe” wrestling style, wanted it to have a falls count anywhere stipulation. In a falls count anywhere match, there are no disqualifications and basically no rules. The Miz and McMahon will be free to take out their respective daddy issues all over MetLife Stadium.

Still, despite the built-up tension between them that logically led to a stipulation of this kind, the idea of these men in this type of match isn’t the most natural. Sure, the 49-year-old McMahon loves to attempt death-defying stunts, but they look more and more dangerous as the years go by. The Miz, as previously mentioned, isn’t known for these types of risks or for anything resembling a brawling style of wrestling that fits this type of match.
