Following the signings of Nate Orchard and Cassius Marsh, the Seahawks may be willing to look at an edge defender later in the draft than first anticipated. With how quickly they’re expected to fly off the board in the first round and practically no draft capital to trade up, it makes sense to bide their time and find a developmental prospect in the later rounds.

Alabama’s Christian Miller has some intriguing tools and tape, despite being a little undersized for the position. He has outstanding hip flexibility and has already tested off the charts during the draft process from an athletic standpoint.

Miller has NFL roots, as his father Corey was a nine-year pro and currently serves as a pastor, nicknamed “The Pastor of Pain.” Which, to me, sounds like the perfect nickname if Kam Chancellor ever decides to get ordained as a minister.

Miller has earned a lot of praise over the years from teammates and coaches for his ability to handle adversity, which Seattle always seems to value in the evaluation process. I get the sense that the organization really likes Miller (as well as his teammate, Isaiah Buggs) and they would have plenty to work with to mold Miller into a productive pass rusher at the NFL level.
