If you think about what Michigan has coming back from a 30-win team, No. 5 might actually be a little too low. The Wolverines return essentially everyone to a team that made the Sweet 16 and ran into the buzzsaw that was Texas Tech and that immovable defense.

There’s no doubt about it, the Wolverines need more offense next season and it’ll start with key returners such as Ignas Brazdeikas and Jordan Poole — assuming both are back. They each have decisions to make, but they’d be wise to return for at least one more season in Ann Arbor.

Zavier Simpson could use more work on his shot to become more of an offensive threat and Jon Teske could use the same in order to become that much more difficult to guard.

John Beilein has done an incredible job in his time in Ann Arbor and he’s stockpiled some enough talent to make a run at the national title again next season. Will the Wolverines be mentally tough enough to compete, though?

Michigan only figures to lose Charles Matthews for sure, while bringing in a couple of four-stars to join a deeper team. The Wolverines will be up there in the Final Four picture when it’s all said and done.
