Here’s a few picks, predictions and possible upsets as FanSided previews the 2019 edition of The Masters.

“Hello, friends.” My goodness, is it that time of year already? Yes, I started this preview of The Masters with the famous Jim Nantz line because there’s no better way to start Masters week than that so I wasn’t even going to try.

As they have since 1934, the best players in the world will make their way to Georgia for the chance to make history. Seeing as how this tournament was created by the best amateur to ever play the game, Bobby Jones, some of the top amateurs in the world will join the world’s top professionals at one of the most storied venues in all of sports, Augusta National Golf Club. And the world’s best are certainly here as the top 50 players in the Official World Golf Ranking are all in the field this week.

As per usual, there are plenty of great stories that could play out this week so what we’ll do today is take a look at the top 10 players in the world and five more stories that could make for great television on Sunday and then I’ll pick a winner. Easy enough, right?

Now, if you’ve read my major previews before, this is the point where I would normally take a look at the course but this is Augusta National. What could I possibly say about this historic venue that hasn’t already been said? It’s Rae’s Creek. It’s the Hogan and Nelson Bridges. It’s Amen Corner. It’ Augusta. So let’s just go ahead and jump in with the top five players in the world and how they could fare this week at The Masters.
