Quinnen Williams. 4. player. 28. . Defensive Tackle. Alabama

The Oakland Raiders hold three first round picks later this month, and have a legitimate opportunity to be the most-improved team in football next season. Already this offseason, rookie general manager Mike Mayock has been pushing all the right buttons, and has this Raiders team in much better shape than they were a year ago.

After adding Antonio Brown to the wide receiver group, Mayock went out and spent big in free agency, adding talent on both sides of the ball. While the collection of players has been nice, they have left out a very important position so far, and that is on the edge, where the Raiders were historically bad last season.

While they need an edge rusher in the worst way, sitting at No. 4, it will be too hard for Mayock and Jon Gruden to pass up on Alabama’s Quinnen Williams. The rest of the edge rushers in this draft class can be had with the Raiders two later picks, and Williams is the kind of player you can really build your defense around along the defensive line.

Oakland only won four games last season, so it will  take an incredible turnaround to be competitive in what should be a solid AFC West in 2019. However, they have added the kind of pieces that can key a turnaround like that, and the only hope is that the team does not mortgage the future to trade up to No. 1 and select Oklahoma’s Kyler Murray.
