Hello and welcome to our very first MLB DFS Weather Report. Today’s post will cover the four game early slate starting in the Midwest and working its way West.

Today’s first pitch is at 12:10 PM in Detroit, followed by a potential winter-mix in Chicago. The last two early slate games move West to Denver and then San Francisco. Two games look to have some threatening weather, while the other two MLB DFS Weather games seem ready to go.

There is a whirlwind of difference in the weather throughout these four games, pun fully intended here. There are two cities we need to be wary of today, Chicago and Denver. Yep, already a potential Coors trap game in our first Weather Report! Luckily, you’re here at Fantasy CPR and have been warned, so make sure to check the forecast down below.

MLB DFS Weather: Wednesday April 10th, 2019

Indians @ Tigers – First pitch 12:10 PM

46-49 degrees from 12:00 – 3:00 PM

9 MPH wind heading SW – 0% chance of precipitation – 46% humidity

We may be looking at less than ideal temperatures for a baseball game, but no threat of delays. With wind coming from NNE to NE throughout game time, it is expected to be blowing in the direction of the right field foul pole in Comerica. Left handed hitters with a tendency to pull the ball could benefit today.

Rays @ White Sox – First pitch at 1:10 PM

40 degrees from 1:00 – 4:00 PM

11 MPH wind heading SW – 56-60% increasing chance of precipitation – 76% humidity

Living in the Chicago area, I can tell you it is already frigid out there. The real feel in the stadium will be even closer to freezing, it’s not like it’s Spring or anything right? The low temperature mixed with wind would be extremely uncomfortable to play in.

It would not surprise me at all if this game gets rescheduled. So please keep this in mind before locking in your lineup!  Just a few clicks southwest of Detroit, Chicago will experience similar wind heading SW and towards right field foul pole.

Braves @ Rockies – First pitch at 2:10 PM

43 degrees at start time but consistently dropping throughout the afternoon.

28 MPH wind heading S – 50% chance of precipitation – 77.5% humidity

Accuweather is calling for possible rain and/or snow in Denver part way through this game, which could pose as a threat for mid-game delays. Give your Coors bottle 10 minutes outside before opening pitch and let me know if the mountains turn blue! Don’t be fooled by the temperature as the real feel is far colder.

Today is a perfect example of a day I’d like to fade Braves and Rockies. Not only is the actual feeling below freezing, but the wind is nearly 30 MPH directly in the face of the hitter.

Padres @ Giants – First pitch at 2:45 PM

64 degrees

13.5 MPH heading SE – 0% chance of precipitation – 46% humidity

Sometimes I ask myself why I chose to stay in the Midwest. This forecast for early April doesn’t make me feel any better about it! Mostly sunny and 64 with wind blowing directly to right field at Oracle Park. Still weird calling Oracle Park.

I would feel very comfortable focusing on some left-handed hitters in this game. They will look to distribute souvenirs to the boaters and swimmers in McCovey Cove.
