1. Making the right play

The Nuggets excel in two key areas, rebounds and assists.

Looking at their raw rebounding numbers are concerning, the Nuggets rank 17th in defensive rebound per game. However, remembering that they don’t give up second-chance points and have fewer opportunities for rebounds, we look at their defensive rebound percentage and then we see their excellence. The Nuggets are fifth in the NBA in defensive rebound percentage and first the in NBA in offensive rebound percentage. Those numbers make them second in the NBA in overall rebound percentage. So, as we saw earlier, they don’t allow second-chance points, while simultaneously putting themselves in positions to score those second-chance points. No team can expect to dominate the glass against the Nuggets.

Next. What to expect for a GOAT-less NBA playoffs. dark

As we noted earlier, the Nuggets don’t have one player who dominates their offense. That is probably a smart strategy considering they don’t have a single player above the 50th percentile in isolation play. It doesn’t matter if you have the second best passing team in the NBA. The Nuggets rank second in both assists per game and assist percentage, trailing the Golden State Warriors in both categories. They are going to move the ball around and get the best possible looks for their teammates. That makes them one of the more difficult teams to guard in the NBA.

Thanks to all of the factors stated above, it is easy to say that the Denver Nuggets are ready to win the NBA Championship this season.
